Texas-based Cabot Oil & gasorp. announced on Tuesday that its gross Marcellus shale production has averaged more than 700 million cubic feet of natural gas per day for the last two weeks in Pennsylvani and West Virginia.
That is a recod high, the company said.
It also hit a record of 752 million cubic feet during one 24-hour period, the company said.
The company said the increased production was driven by a coordinated effort to manage line pressures, not connect new wells.
Cabot with offices in Houston has 14 of the top 20 producing wells in Pennsylvaia in the first half of 2012.
The company has produced 354 billion cubic feet of natural gas in Pennsylvania with its 145 producing horizontal wells.
