Center supports Moniz, LNG exports

By Bob Downing Published: March 5, 2013

From the Venter for LIquified Natural Gas:

Washington, D.C.:The Obama Administration announced today that Ernest J. Moniz, a long-time MIT physics professor and director of the university’s Energy Initiative, is the administration’s choice to head the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Moniz also served as an Energy Department undersecretary during the Clinton administration.

Upon announcement of the nomination, Bill Cooper, President of the Center for Liquefied Natural Gas, issued the following statement:

“The Center for LNG congratulates Ernest Moniz on his nomination for the position of Secretary of the Department of Energy. The new Energy Secretary will have the opportunity to quickly move forward with approvals for LNG export projects, which will help revitalize U.S. manufacturing, create jobs and bring in significant government revenue. CLNG urges the U.S. Department of Energy to seize the opportunity to grow American exports by selling a small percentage of our clean-burning natural gas to our trading partners abroad, which will create further economic growth here at home.”
