Cleveland City Club to host shale drilling program

By Bob Downing Published: July 8, 2012

The Cleveland City Club on Wednesday (July 11) will welcome Deborah Rogers, a Texas financial analyst and founder of the Energy Policy Forum.

Her luncheon talk will run from noon to 1:30 .m. at the City Club, 850 Euclid Ave. The deadline for reservations is Monday, July 9. Tickets are $25.

Rogers has served on the Advisory  Council for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas since 2008.

In 2011, she was appointed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to a task force reviewing placement of air monitors around drilling sites in the Barnett shale in North Texas.

She joined a regional steering committee for the Oil and Gas Accountability Project in 2011 with responsibility for economic questions.

Her Web site, http://enerypolicyforum, looks at the complex issues involved in shale gas drilling.

She got involved after drillers put 12 wells next to her nationally recognized artisanal cheese-making dairy.
