Pittsburgh-based CONSOL Energy has closed its field office in Ohio's Columbiana County.
The reason? The company is shifting its operations further south in Monroe and Noble counties, reports National Gas Intelligence, a trade publication.
The company had leased office space in Leetonia in March 2012.
CONSOL has 44 horizontal Utica permits in Ohio, most of which are in Noble County. It also has a Utica joint venture with Hess Corp.
Chesapeake Energy Corp,the Oklahoma-based firm is the No. 1 driller in Ohio.
