Pittsburgh-based Consol Energy is hosting a public meeting on Thursday, May 10, in the Youngtown suburb of Boardman on its Utica shale drilling plans.
The meeting will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave., the Youngstown Vindicator reported.
The purpose of the meeting is to answer questions from the public before drilling begins in the area, Consol officials said.
In April, the company gots its first permit to drill in Trumbull County.
The Boardman meeting will be the fourth conducted by the company in Ohio.
Another meeting is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. May 22 in Howland at Leo's Ristorante, 7042 E. Market St.
Chesapeake Energy Corp,the Oklahoma-based firm is the No. 1 driller in Ohio.
