Forests in Pennsylvania are being fragmented by development tied to Marcellus shale drilling, according to a new federal study.
The report by the U.S. Geological Survey shows that 140 miles of roads and eight miles of pipelines were built in Allgheny County between 2004-2010 to produce 647 Marcellus shale wells.
