Concerned Citizens of Ohio will offer free well water testing on Sunday, Jan. 6, in Portage County.
The tests will be offered at 3:15 p.m. at the King of Glory Church off state Route 303 in Streetsboro. The church is next to the Streetsboro post office..
Two teams will test the water for chemicals and salts that can show possible contamination from natural gas-oil drilling.
Samples of water should be taken before treatment by water softeners or water heaters. Cold water should run freely for several minutes and be collected in a clean glass jar with a clean wide lid, like a jelly jar. At least two cups of water are advised.
In addition, samples should be taken the day of the test.
Long lines are expected. Arrive early and get a number.
