Texas-based Halcon Resources Corp. has announced its intention to suspend Utica shale drilling in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
The company told the Youngstown-based Business Journal Daily last week that it was "premature" to comment on its plans to build a $70 million transloading facility near Lordstown.
The company has drilled wells in Trumbull and Mahoning counties in Ohio and in three Pennsylvania countiess.
The company was not overly pleased with its initial Utica results.
It intends to focus at least in 2014 in other shale plays.
