Hess Corp. may have to renegotiate as many as 300 leases in eastern Ohio or risk losing them, in the wake of a federal court decision.
U.S. District Judge Algernon Marbley in Columbus ruled against the company in a case involving expiring leases and a landowner in Jefferson County, Columbus Business First reported.
Hess said an appeal is expected.
It had acquired the leases that were negotiated in 2006-2008 by another company when lease prices were low.
