A report from Pennsylvania State University's School of Hospitality Management found that hotel demand around shale drilling areas in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania "has grown at higher rates than national averages since 2009," Lodging Hospitality reports.
These hotels are benefitting both from natural gas companies establishing operations in the area, which the report suggests will continue.
The hotels are also benefitting from travel by a variety of natural gas experts, which it regards as a short-term spike, the article said.
