Water-soil scientist Julie Weatherington-Rice will speak on drilling for natural gas in and near public water well fields on June 7 in Carroll County.
Her talk, sponsored by Carroll Concerned Citizens, will be at 7 p.m. in the Church of Christ, 363 Moody Ave., Carrollton.
She has been working with the village of Carrolton for years on itswell-protection plan.
Her presentation is geared to public officials, water department heads and private landowners.
It will look at public water protections of the aquifer in Carroll and surrounding counties.
