From the OhioShale blog from the Bricker & Eckler law firrm and the Business Journal:
A Columbiana County jury has ruled in favor of Patriot Energy Partners LLC and nine other defendants who had been sued by family for allegedly using “deceptive business tactics to secure mineral leases from landowners at a fraction of what they were really worth” and then selling the leases to Chesapeake Energy Corp. at a significant profit.
The Business Journal reports that the family also alleged that the leases should be ruled null and void because they were improperly notarized.
