Mahoning group wants public forums, debates
A grass-roots group in Mahoning County wants televised open public debates on hydraulic fracturing or fracking and related processes.
The request was released on Thursday by Frackfree Mahoning Valley, a group based in Youngstown.
"The public needs more openness, more transparency and more answers, not less," said Susie Beiersdorfer of Frackfree Mahoning Valley.
Those affected should have a say in what's happening and that's not allowed under current Ohio rules, she said.
