Anti-fracking activists in Medina County today are hosting a Romanian activist.
Vlad Cantuna will be meeting with the Concerned Citizens of Medina County and touring drilling sites in the area.
He is to meet with Kathie Jones and Sandra Bilek of the grass-roots group to learn about efforts in Medina County to limit shale drilling.
That includes a campaign to get local townships to ban drilling on township-ownd land and the push to approve limited home rule, a move that some say would help townships stop drilling.
Cantuna is from Bucharest and is in the United States on a professional fellowship program. He is associated with the Resource Center for Public Participation in Romania.
He is coordinating a campaign informing three villages and one city on shale gas exploration in his European country.
He is also visiting Pennsylvania and Michigan on his two-week tour.
