A new Texas company has announced a $125 million deal to acquire acreage in East Texas from Chesapeake Energy Corp.
Fort Worth-based Energy & Exploration Partners Inc. acknowledged the deal on Monday in regulatory filings.
The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter 2012.
It covers 57,000 acres in five Texas counties. The area is called the Eaglebine because it combined the Eagle Ford shale and the Woodbine sandstone.
