The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is holding a public open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28.
It will be held at the state agency's offices on East State Street in Athens.
The meeting was arranged after Malvena Frost and about 100 others protested a proposed injection well in Rome Township in Athens County.
Frost owns the land where the Atha injection well for briny liquid wastes is planned.
Athens County Fracking Action Newtwork and Appalachia Resist! are unhappy that the state has scheduled an open house, not a public hearing.
That is a breach of public trust and an abuse of discretion by ODNR, the two activist groups said.
They are planning a protest march at 6 p.m. from the Athens County Center to the state offices.
