By Bob Downing Published: July 25, 2013

Activists against Ohio’s injection wells are holding a rally at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 29,  on the square of the Trumbull County Courthouse in downtown Warren.

The group is calling for a ban on injection wells used to get rid of liquid drilling wastes in Ohio.

The keynote speaker will be author Bill McKibben of, an organization involved in fighting global warming.

After the rally, the activists will take a bus to a nearby well site and conduct an interdenominational religious service.

The event is called Don’t Frack Ohio 2.0 and is being sponsored by numerous grass-roots Ohio groups.

The rally is expected to attract several hundred participants.

The sponsors are also conducting training for activists on Saturday and Sunday in Ravenna. To sign up, go to
