1. The Marcellus Drilling News reports that the eco-group Food and Water Watch is pushing the state of Maryland to adopt a statewide ban on hydraulic fracturing or fracking.

2. The Marcellus shale in Pennsylvania has created an additional 18,000 jobs in the last four years.
That has raised the number of shale drilling jobs to 238,000 since 2008, reports the Pennsylvania Department of Labor.
3. Chesapeake Midstream Partners, a pipeline and natural-gas processing company, is getting a new name: Access Midstream Partners.
The company was previouly owned by Oklahoma-based Chesapeake Energy Corp. but was sold to Global Infrastructure Partners to generate additional income for the cash-strapped company.
