The location of a gas processing plant near Youngstown has finally been pinned down.
NiSource Inc. and Hilcorp Energy will build the $150 million plant near New Middleton in southeast Mahoning County.
The plant, expected to be open by Dec. 31, is off State Line Road in Springfield Township.
Construction is expected to begin abhout June 1.
An additional $150 million in gas-collecting pipelines are planned in Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
The processing plant may be expanded in the future.
The overall project could have $1 billion price tag, according to officials.
