PDC Energy to develop Ohio wells with no partners
The Marcellus Drilling News reports that PDC Energy has announced plans to deveiop 45,000 acres in southeastern Ohio with no drilling partners.
The Colorado-based company had been seeking partners for a joint venture, but the offers were such that the company has decided to proceed on its own.
The firm said it is committing $50 million to Utica shale drilling in Ohio in the 2013 budget.
PDC, based in Denver, has drilled two wells in Guernsey County and is pleased with the results.
A third Ohio well, in Washington County, is scheduled to be drilled later this year.
