Pennsylvania water protest
About 30 protestors on Friday blockaded a road to a Pennsylvania mobile home park where the residents are being evicted for a new water facility for drilling.
Aqua America wants to use the site in Piatt Township for a water-withdrawl facility from the Susquehanna River to provide water for drillers in the Marcellus shale.
It purchased the Riverdale mobile home park and issued lease termination notices to 32 families.
Construction is set to begin.
The facility was approved last March by the Susquehanna River Basin Commission. Aqua America is authorized to withdraw up to 3 million gallons per day from the river.
Thr proptestors said they want to stay in their mobile homes and demanded that the company do more to help them.
