Billionaire energy investor T. Boone Pickens said he has sold off his shares in Chesapeake Energy Corp., his third-biggest stock holding on Dec. 31.
"We do not own Chesapeake stock," Pickens said Thursday at a Las Vegas conference. "We didn't like natural gas."
He denied that the sale of his stock was tied to the financial dealings of of Chesapeake head Aubrey McClendon, Pickens told Bloomberg News.
It reported that Pickens owned 570,055 shares of Chesapeake as of Dec. 31.
Chesapeake Energy Corp,the Oklahoma-based firm is the No. 1 driller in Ohio.
