Southern Ohio land leasing for $5,900 an acre
A Colorado-based energy company is paying bonuses of $5,900 an acre on leases in Ohio's Noble, Morgan and Washington counties.
The company is Antero Resources, a firm based in Denver.
The deal was negotiated on 20,000 acre in Noble County by a landowners' group, the Marietta Times reported today.
The $5,900 per acre is one of the highest lease bonuses reportedly paid in Ohio to landowners by energy companies interested in developing the Utica shale.
