Stark State College in Jackson Townshop will host a Tuesday (June 19) informational program on drilling for natural gas in Ohio's Utica shale.
It will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Silk Auditorium at 6200 Frank Ave. NW.
Topics include providing a safe and skilled work force, leasing of land and mineral rights, and the potential impact on the work force, economy and infrastructure in affected communities.
Speakers are Rhonda L. Reda, executive director of the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program; Harry Eadon, president/executive director of the Tuscarawas Oil and Gas Alliance; attorney William G. Williams from Canton; and Kathleen Steere, petroleum engineer and coordinator of oil and gas programs at Stark State College.
Stark State admissions and financial aid representatives will be available to provide information about educational programs that address the support service needs of the oil and gas industry.
Also available will be representatives from the Employment Source, area agencies and the Canton, North Canton and Massillon chambers of commerce.
