Three protestors were arrested in Trumbull County on Sunday during a lease-signing meeting between landowners and BP.
Arrested were Jonathan Sidney, Annie Lukins and Jeremy Bingham. They are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
Lukins of Cleveland held a press conference on the steps of the Youngstown jail.
"We're showing that arresting us won't make the problem go away," she said in a statement. "We won't stop and we won't allow real criminals like BP to destroy Ohio like they did the Gulf Coast. Safe fracking is a myth."
BP has leased about 85,000 acres in Trumbull County. It anticipates drilling its first wells into Ohio's Utica shale next year.
