Two surveys are out with slightly different numbers on how New Yorkers view shale drilling and hydraulic fracturing or fracking.
The Wall Street Journal/NBC 4 New York/Marist University poll of showed that 37 percent of respondents favor fracking, 47 percent are opposed and 16 percent are undecided.
In a separate poll by Connecticut's Quinnipiac University, 44 percent of New Yorkers surveyed support frackibng, 46 percent oppose it and 10 percent are undecided.
