Update: Ohio injection wells take in 7.9 billion gallons since 1978

By Bob Downing Published: August 2, 2013

Here are corrected Ohio injection totals:

From 1978 through 2012, 7,892,815,182 gallons of liquid drilling waste have been injected into Ohio's injection wells.
That total was compiled by Columbus activist Teresa Mills by reviewing sate records.
Portage County is No. 1 in the state with 1,161,722,898 gallons.
No. 2 is Stark County with 746,372,676 gallons.
The injection well that has accepted the most waste to date is the Ronald F. Moran well in Licking County at 239,897,742 gallons.
Other totals were listed in a Monday posting from a rally in Warren, Ohio. Sorry. Got bad numbers.
