1. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Ohio Shale Coalition is projecting that nearly 2,000 horizontal wells will be drilled into Ohio's Utica shale by the end of 2014.
At present, 359 wells are permitted and 129 have been drilled.
At present, drillers have 41 drilling rigs working in Ohio, said Linda Woggon of the coalition.
She said nearly 66,000 jobs have been created in eastern Ohio.
The Timken Co. reported that 24 percent of its global revenues are derived from sales to drilling companies, said spokesman Shawn Seanor.
2. The Canton Repository reported that the Ohio Oil and Gas Association's annual expo will move from Canton to Cleveland.
The event, on Dec. 4-6, will be held at the International Exposition Center next to Cleveland Hopkins Airport.
It was held last year at Canton's Memorial Civic Center.
