More than 400 Marcellus shale wells have been drilled in Pennsylvania's Westmoreland County.
That's the good news.
The bad news is that drillers are now convinced that Westmoreland is not in the play's "sweet spot."
That makes the gas less desirable.
The county's wells produced 32 billion cubic feet of natural gas from January through June, 2013, according to state records.
