Field and Waterloo both fail, both opposed by Portage County Tea Party

By John Published: March 6, 2012

Results are in now for Portage County and both Field and Waterloo have failed again to pass new taxes.

This just in from Waterloo superintendent Andrew Hill:

The unofficial election results are in and once again we were not successful in passing our operating levy.  The Board of Elections unofficial results are:
Yes  936 (39.46%)

No  1436 (60.54%)

On behalf of our Board of Education, I would like to thank the members of the Waterloo Community Action Committee who put in numerous hours over the last few months working on our levy campaign.  Their dedication to our school district is much appreciated.

Our March Board of Education meeting will be held this Thursday, March 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the high school media center.  Part of my report will be a presentation on our financial situation for the upcoming school year.  While specific recommendations for reductions in personnel and programming will not be made to the Board of Education until the April meeting, the presentation on Thursday will outline the amount of money we need to reduce before the start of next school year and will talk in general about the areas where this will need to occur.  If you are not able to make the meeting, it will be streamed live on UStream (a link to this can be found on the homepage of our district website).

Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you for your continued support of our school district.

Andy Hill
