Former NFL linebacker Dave Robinson kicks off Black History Month tomorrow

By John Published: February 4, 2010

Lighthouse Academy principal Edward Savoy has lined up Dave Robinson to speak  at the charter school on Friday at 8:30 a.m.

If you ask our kids they will all tell you that they want to be the next Lebron or play in the NFL but do not realize how hard it is to truly get to that level, and how few people actually can make it that far.  They do not even realize that they will have to have certain grades in order to play high school sports.  He is a positive role model for our male students, as you are well aware of the fact that positive male role models are severely lacking in the African-American community.  This will be an opportunity for our students to meet, listen to, and ask questions of a former professional football player as well as actually get to see and hold one of his super bowl rings.
