Springfield grad's safety video makes top 10

By John Published: July 13, 2011

"Fellow drivers don't be dumb! When you drive you need your thumbs!"

So says the superhero who leaps into cars to prevent texting while driving.

Springfield High School graduate Amber Cullen's one-minute video "Phone Bandit" is one of the top 10 public service announcements selected in a nationwide contest sponsored by Bridgestone Americas. She could win a $10,000 college scholarship if her video wins the most votes. She's already won a set of four Bridgestone or Firestone tires for making the top 10.
