"If we need to take a couple extra seconds to analyze a situation where everybody else just rushes headlong into it, that's paying off time and time again" Mark or Bill, above, said early in tonight's episode. Well, if you know how to use those extra seconds.
In yet another case of NOT READING THE INSTRUCTIONS, Mark and Bill failed to follow a crucial step -- going to a location on foot instead of taking a cab -- which cost them a 30-minute penalty, enough to move them from next to last to last place and into elimination. I know there's a lot of excitement and pressure in the Race, and it's undoubtedly easy to get caught up in it. But two people reading a set of directions should be able to see what's important. Or at least should have watched "Amazing Race" enough to be aware that careless reading has hurt contestants in the past.
