Last night, the bride and I had a traditional Akron meal. Meaning Swensons. Gotta love that Galley Boy. That came after a day I had spent at the Goodyear Wingfoot Lake hangar, where there was the christening of Wingfoot One, the newest and fanciest blimp in the company's fleet. Robin Roberts from "Good Morning America" and other ABC efforts did the honors.
This being the modern journalism age, I tweeted, took photos with my phone and tweeted them, recorded the christening on my phone and later posted it, and then wrote a story for Ohio.com and today's Beacon Journal. (You can see some of my photos here. If you don't follow me on Twitter, I'm rheldenfelsabj. If you want to keep up with me on Facebook, I have a profile as Rich Heldenfels and a page as Rich Heldenfels, Pop Culture Guy.)
I also learned that I should always have my phone charger. I likely would have taken even more photos if I hadn't had to ration the charge as it went low.
Also of note: My chat with musician Theron Brown, who will be seen as Herbie Hancock in Don Cheadle's movie "Miles Ahead."
