The last couple of days have been intensely busy. I took some time off from the Beacon Journal on Thursday and Friday so the bride and I could see the University of Akron men's and women's basketball teams play in the MAC tournament. (For those of you tuning in late, we are avid followers of Akron basketball and soccer, and will be giving football another chance in the fall.)
The men were eliminated in the semifinals after leading by 17 points at the half; I have no more to say about that. The women won their first two games, so we were back in Cleveland this afternoon for the MAC championship, which they also won in exciting fashion, They have been great fun to watch. And now they are headed to the NCAAs for the first time in UA women's basketball history.
That said, I have been writing, too. I will post some links tomorrow but if you want to head over to Ohio.com, you should find my interview with David Giffels about his new book, the weekly mailbag, some thoughts about the importance of the "Veronica Mars" movie and more.
