From today's e-mail:
CBS's freshman comedy THE CLASS and sophomore comedy HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER are switching time periods, effective Monday, Oct. 9.
THE CLASS will move to Monday (8:30-9:00 PM) from its current 8:00 time period, while HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER will now lead off CBS's Monday comedy block (8:00-8:30 PM).
Through its first three broadcasts, THE CLASS is averaging 8.95 million viewers, 3.1/09 in adults 18-49 and 3.9/10 in adults 25-54.
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER has built on THE CLASS lead-in by +16% in adults 18-49 (3.6/09), +13% in adults 25-54 (4.4/10) and by 700,000 viewers (9.65m).
My translation: ''The Class'' just isn't cutting it as CBS's first show of the night and the network thinks it needs protection. So it's getting hammocked between ''HIMYM'' and ''Men'' in the hope that people will not bother to change the channel for half an hour. I preferred the old schedule, since I could just skip that first half-hour and then watch the two shows I liked back-to-back. Alas.
