The official word: “American Idol” hopeful Chris Medina is scheduled to perform on NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” Friday, February 25 (11:35 p.m.-12:35 a.m. ET).
Medina captured America and the “Idol” judges’ attention early in the competition for more than just his vocal skills. He is the primary caregiver to his fiancée, Juliana Ramos, who was severely injured in a car accident just months before they were supposed to wed.
In an emotional moment, Medina was eliminated on tonight’s episode, which ended his amazing journey on the popular singing competition show.
Rickey Minor and The Tonight Show Band will accompany Medina on “What Are Words” – a song inspired by Medina’s love story. The track which was written and produced by Rodney Jerkins will be available online Thursday.
How many times did Seacrest promise last night that the top 24 would be revealed? Of course, anyone noting the show had two hours scheduled tonight would have thought BS. But five were picked, officially listed below:
Tonight, the AMERICAN IDOL judges announced five semifinalists who have secured a coveted spot in this season’s Top 24. These five semifinalists are Naima Adedapo from Milwaukee, WI; Clint Jun Gamboa from Long Beach, CA; Ashthon Jones from Nashville, TN; Paul McDonald from Nashville, TN; and Haley Reinhart from Wheeling, IL.
