I didn't get to last night's performance show until this evening. Below, after the jump, I'll have a few words about the performances and the results from tonight.
On Monday's performance show, I was very impressed by Gilles Marini, Shawn Johnson and Ty Murray. Melissa Rycroft was also good, although I found her performance more about acrobatics than dancing, and Lil' Kim continues to impress. On the lower end of my enjoyment are Steve-O, Steve Wozniak, Belinda Carlisle, Holly Madison and Denise Richards, and I wouldn't object to seeing any of them going home. Lawrence Taylor is a work in progress. David Alan Grier is much better than the judges give him credit for being; "DWTS" is a show where it appears a lot of preconceived notions enter the judges' analysis, and they seem to have decided DAG was bad without really looking at what he does. Chuck Wicks is very fortunate to be teamed with Julianne Hough. I am probably forgetting someone, but right now I have no idea who that might be.
By the time I came over from "American Idol," the results were down to the final two: Belinda Carlisle and Woz. Woz survived, Belinda was sent home. I will freely admit that Woz was a worse dancer than Carlisle. But Belinda was no great shakes either, and there was something wooden and unlikable about her performance. Facially, she reminded me a great deal of Priscilla Presley. And on we go.
