I've been meaning to post this, especially since Universal stopped issuing the show under its own DVD banner. To be sure, the series began to slip some as Beav got older, but it was still something I watched faithfully to the end. So here's the word from Shout! Factory:
Alongside baseball and apple pie, LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, one of the most beloved family sitcoms in television history, reigns supreme in the pantheon of Americana. Starring Barbara Billingsley, Hugh Beaumont, Tony Dow and Jerry Mathers as "The Beaver," LEAVE IT TO BEAVER celebrates the simple joys and travails of a suburban childhood. In addition to the Cleavers – June, Ward, Wally and Beaver – this long-running television series featured an unforgettable supporting cast including Beaver's hapless partner in prank Larry Mondello, and one of television's most memorable teenage sycophant Eddie Haskell.
On June 29, 2010, Shout! Factory and the NBC Universal Television, DVD, Music and Consumer Products Group will bring the long-awaited LEAVE IT TO BEAVER: THE COMPLETE SERIES in a lavish limited edition 37-DVD box set to the home entertainment shelves. More after the jump.
Inspired by the real-life experience of creators Joe Connelly and Bob Mosher’s own children, LEAVE IT TO BEAVER follows the hilarious everyday adventures of young Theodore “Beaver” Cleaver and his older brother Wally. Whether at home, at school or playing around their suburban neighborhood, Beaver always manages to get himself into some kind of trouble, comically learning each valuable lesson life has to offer along the way. The stories contrast Beaver's child-like adventures with the teenage escapades of Wally, creating a cornucopia of comedic situations.
