The official word: UP, America’s favorite channel for uplifting family entertainment, will premiere all-new episodes of the sixth season of the UP Original Series “Heartland,” the hit romantic and rustic family drama based on Lauren Brooke’s best-selling novels, starring Amber Marshall (The Elizabeth Smart Story, “The Power Strikers”), Graham Wardle (Yesterday, In the Land of Women) and Michelle Morgan (Diary of the Dead, “Stargate: Atlantis”). Produced by SEVEN24 Films and Dynamo Film Inc., original episodes of “Heartland” will debut exclusively on UP every Wednesday this summer, beginning on Wednesday, June 4 at 9:00 p.m. EDT / 6:00 p.m. PDT.
The series also stars Shaun Johnston (Two Brothers, a Girl and a Gun, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee), Nathaniel Arcand (Grey Owl, “Due South”), Chris Potter (Red Glare, “The Good Witch”), Kerry James (On the Other Hand, Death, “Aliens in America”), Jessica Amlee (Eve and the Fire Horse, Love Crimes of Gillian Guess), Gabriel Hogan (The Day Santa Didn’t Come, “King”) and Alisha Newton (Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, “Supernatural”).
Shot on location against the glorious backdrop and stunning vistas of the foothills of the Rockies, “Heartland” is a sprawling multi-generational saga about a family getting through life together in both happy and trying times. In Season Six, viewers will find their favorite characters – Amy (Amber Marshall), Ty (Graham Wardle), Jack (Shaun Johnston), Lou (Michelle Morgan), Tim (Chris Potter) and Peter (Gabriel Hogan) – struggling to overcome new challenges in uncharted territory. As the season gets underway, Amy is struggling to understand why Ty hasn't said a word about the engagement ring she discovered in his pocket in the Season Five finale. She also has to deal with Ty's acceptance to vet school and the new friends who take him away from her. Working with horses remains the constant in her life and a runaway horse that arrives at Heartland ultimately leads Amy back into the world of show jumping, not just as a rider and competitor, but as a coach. Lou (Michelle Morgan) and Peter's (Gabriel Hogan) new home turns into a renovation nightmare which results in a tragic and near fatal situation. Jack's (Shaun Johnston) European vacation did not work out as well as he leads Lisa (Jessica Steen) to believe and a newcomer, an 11-year-old runaway by the name of Georgie (Alisha Newton), becomes a new fixture at the Heartland Ranch. But, as always, the family faces those challenges together, sometimes with exasperation, sometimes with love and always with a healthy sense of humor.
“We’re thrilled to have all-new episodes of UP’s fan-favorite original series ‘Heartland’ returning to the schedule," said Sophia Kelley, senior vice president of programming, UP. “Every Wednesday night, all summer long and through the fall, UP will serve up a brand-new episode of the show, taking viewers through all the love, excitement and surprises of this exciting new season.”
New episodes of “Heartland” will air every Wednesday night at 9 p.m. EDT from June 4th through October. Viewers can catch up on previous seasons of “Heartland” daily on UP at 3 and 4 p.m. EDT.
