Josh Cribbs on "The League"
The official word:
One of the National Football League's elite athletes will debut his comedic timing and acting abilities in an episode of FX's "The League" airing September 30 at 10:30PM EST/PST. The edgy comedy, centered on a fictional fantasy football league, will feature Josh Cribbs as himself the upcoming episode.
Cleveland Browns Pro Bowler Josh Cribbs likened the experience to preparing for a football game and studying film. "I prepared for my role by watching episodes from the first season and memorizing my script, but when I stepped on the set, it was like seeing a blitz for the first time. The actors were so talented and funny, so a lot of my lines were improvised."
About "The League" on FX:
Fantasy football is supposed to provide an outlet for good-natured competition and camaraderie between friends and colleagues, but that's not always the case. In FX's comedy series, The League, deception, one-upmanship and a win-at-all costs mentality rule the day on the virtual gridiron and then extend into personal relationships, marriages and the workplace. The League was created by the husband-and-wife team of Jeff Schaffer (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld) and Jackie Marcus Schaffer (Disturbia, Eurotrip) who serve as executive producers and directors. The series is produced by FX Productions
