The official word: NewsChannel 5 welcomes home anchor Macie McInnis Jepson to Good Morning Cleveland. She will join Meteorologist Christine Ferreira, Traffic Anchor/Reporter Alicia Roberts, and another co-anchor to be announced soon.
Northeast Ohioans will recognize Macie from her years at WJW Fox 8, where she was employed from 1994 through 1999. At various times during those years, she anchored the morning, noon, and 5PM newscasts.
But Macie’s first career stops were at KTBS and KNOE, both in Louisiana, working various anchor positions and reporter beats.
Continues after the jump.
In recent years, Macie worked at WFAA in Dallas, fulfilling a variety of roles which included 5PM anchor, Medical Reporter, and general assignment reporting. She also hosted various station specials including an annual photographers program.
Macie dedicates much of her spare time to volunteer work, currently serving on the Board of Directors for The Family Place of Dallas. Other organizations she has been involved with include the Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center, the Star Children’s Charity (as a founding member), and the Junior League of Plano Advisory Board. Macie has also earned several honors for her work, including “Medical Reporter of the Year” from the March of Dimes, as well as the 2006 American Women in Radio and Television “Personality of the Year” award.
“Announcing Macie as one of our morning news anchors is another step in strengthening this very important news daypart,” explains NewsChannel 5 News Director Jill Manuel. “Many viewers already know Macie, and her knowledge of the people, places, and things that matter to Northeast Ohioans will be advantageous to everyone who engages with NewsChannel 5 in the morning on-air, online, and through our social media platforms.”
Macie will arrive at NewsChannel 5 in late November.
