I have a roundup of network plans for the fall here. It's admittedly a long sketch, with changes likely in casting, the lineups and what not -- and it does not include the changes coming this summer, or cable programs. But there it is.
Tonight at 9 HBO presents close to three hours of material from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony this year. Inductees were Rush, Heart, Public Enemy, Donna Summer, Randy Newman, Albert King, Quincy Jones and Lou Adler. Excellent segment on Newman, with speech by Don Henley and some good Newman performances to open the show. John Mayer does well in his speech for Albert King, and Gary Clark Jr. kicks it for the King performance tribute; funny Cheech and Chong stuff for Adler, VERY funny Dave Grohl/Taylor Hawkins speeches about Rush, fun "Crossroads" jam at the end -- but didn't Donna Summer deserve a more esteemed speechmaker than Kelly Rowland? (Speech isn't that good, either.)
