Mixed notes Wednesday

By Rich Heldenfels Published: April 16, 2014

The Brooklyn Cyclones, a farm team of the New York Mets, have planned a "Seinfeld"-themed night to mark the show's 25th anniversary. The Cyclones' eye for detail is impressive, as this description of the event makes clear.

Last summer I sat in the sun on vacation and followed the announcement of major Supreme Court decisions on SCOTUSblog. Its reporting and explanations were miles ahead of other news sources. Yet it has had problems getting press credentials for the Court, as it explains here.

You may have read my reporting about "Heaven Is For Real." Now you can read my review here.

Keep an eye out for "Black Box," coming to ABC. I am not sure about the show after watching the series premiere, but star Kelly Reilly (who, btw, is also in "Heaven Is For Real") is pretty amazing.

If you're still watching "Agents of SHIELD," as I am, don't events seem to require a new name for the series?

"American Idol" continues tonight, I still think the production values are better than in recent previous years, and the judging combo of Urban/Lopez/Connick does well. But this has to be one of the dullest groups of contestants in memory.

I have watched all the remaining episodes of "Warehouse 13" through the series finale. Keep tuned. The final episode in particular is very well done.

News I would just as soon not hear: "Dance Moms' " Abby Lee Miller has another series. The word: Renowned dance coach and Dance Moms star, Abby Lee Miller is  on the road, looking to transform dance studios on the brink of disaster in the all-new series, Abby’s Studio Rescue, premiering Tuesday, June 17, at 9pm ET/PT.  Each week, the show follows Abby as she dishes her tough love and no-nonsense advice while giving dance studios a second chance to finally bring home the gold.
