"Six nominations? How long before I win one of these Oscars? I mean, I just showed up at the Golden Globes and they gave me TWO in one night!"

The academy's notes about the nominees are here.

Trivia is here. Among the items:

Kate Winslet, 33, is the youngest performer to pile up six acting nominations.

"Benjamin Button's" 13 nominations are second to the 14 received by both "Titanic" and "All About Eve."

Meryl Streep has added to her record number of performing nominations, with her 15th.

Nine of the acting nominees are first-timers, five are previous winners.

And in my previous post, I should also have made note of Richard Jenkins, whose fine work included "Six Feet Under." And we all know that Amy Adams ("Doubt") is stellar, don't we? I mean, did you see "Enchanted"?
