By Rich Heldenfels Published: June 18, 2013

After a long run on WEWS (Channel 5), the telecasts went to WKYC (Channel 3) on July 1, 2011. They return to Channel 5 on July 1 of this year. The official word:

WEWS NewsChannel 5 is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Ohio Lottery.  Effective July 1st, NewsChannel 5 will broadcast the Pick 3, Pick 4 and Pick 5 drawings at 7:29 p.m. Monday through Friday.  In addition, the station will air the Ohio Lottery’s Cash Explosion® game show on Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m.

“NewsChannel 5 is proud to once again be named the official Ohio Lottery television partner for Northeast Ohio,” said Sam Rosenwasser, NewsChannel 5’s VP & General Manager.

“As a leading news source in the region, we provide viewers with information that is accurate and timely.  That same commitment applies to viewers turning to us for lottery information. We look forward to continuing our long relationship with the Ohio Lottery.”

The Ohio Lottery is known for its community outreach efforts. Whether it’s promoting “Best of Class,” which recognizes outstanding high school graduates, or sponsoring other community events around the state, the Lottery has a major impact in every one of Ohio’s 88 counties. Through this new partnership with NewsChannel 5, there is a renewed opportunity to shed light on those efforts.
