"Parks & Rec's" Aziz Ansari Coming to Lakewood

By admin Published: May 4, 2011

The show will be June 15 in Lakewood Civic Auditorium. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday (May 6) for $35 via www.livenation.com, all Ticketmaster locations, and charge by phone (800)745-3000.

Here's the tour boilerplate: Actor/comedian Aziz Ansari has announced he will embark on a major
multi-city standup tour this summer. Ansari, who currently stars opposite Amy Poehler on NBC’s critically
acclaimed “Parks and Recreation” (which was recently renewed for a third season), will bring his
“Dangerously Delicious Tour” to various cities from June through September.

This past January, Ansari released an hour long standup special on Comedy Central titled, “Intimate
Moments for a Sensual Evening.” The special and subsequent DVD/CD were both extremely successful
and the album continues to be a mainstay on iTunes’ comedy best-seller list. Ansari has also become a
regular on the late night circuit with recent memorable appearances on “The Late Show with David
Letterman,” “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien,” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Continues after the jump.

Ansari has clearly established himself as one of the biggest names in comedy. Entertainment Weekly
recently named him one of the top 12 “Future Stars of Comedy,” and separately one of 2009’s Breakout
TV Stars. Paste Magazine named him one of the Top 10 Comedians of the Decade. The Hollywood
Reporter said that he “has become one of the most prolific writers and performers on the comedy scene
in recent years.”
Additionally, Ansari is currently developing three films for Judd Apatow and Universal with Director Jason
Woliner. Ansari appeared in Get Him to the Greek last summer and had roles in the hit films Funny
People, I Love You, Man and Observe and Report. Ansari first rose to fame on television as a member of
MTV’s “Human Giant.”
