Presented by The University of Akron’s Fred and Laura Ruth Bidwell Photography Lecture Series, renowned photographer Todd Hido will discuss his work during a free lecture at the Akron Art Museum on Thursday, April 1 at 6:30 pm.
A native of Kent, Ohio, Hido is currently based in San Francisco, California. Known for his hauntingly beautiful, eerily illuminated nighttime photographs of lonely and often rundown suburban houses and landscapes, his work has been exhibited around the world. During his lecture, Hido will not only show and discuss his work from the last 15 years, but also his process, sources, influences and kinships. More information on the artist and a sampling of his photographs can be found at www.toddhido.com.
Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in the Charles and Jane Lehner Auditorium. For more information on this and other events at the museum, visit the event calendar at www.AkronArtMuseum.org/calendar.
