Regan Out at WEWS (Channel 5)
Victoria Regan, general manager of the Cleveland-based ABC affiliate, has departed the station. A rep for the station's owner said the station and Regan "mutually agreed to part ways." Which I view skeptically, considering she had only been on the job for two years. No replacement hired yet.
Regan joined Channel 5 in May 2008 from WPBF, the ABC affiliate in West Palm Beach, Fla., where she had been general manager since 1997. In that capacity, she competed against a station owned by the E.W. Scripps Co., which also owns Channel 5.
She also worked for stations in Dayton; Binghamton, N.Y., and Pittsburgh. In a statement when she was hired, Scripps TV Station Group Senior Vice President Bill Peterson said, ''Her career is notable for the 'viewer-centric' news and programming she pursues.''
Her tenure included a number of changes at the station, most visibly Ted Henry's decision to leave.
