Renner Novel Has Movie Deal (Updated WIth Renner Comment)

By Rich Heldenfels Published: January 30, 2013

Deadline.com is reporting the following:

EXCLUSIVE: Warner Bros has acquired the James Renner novel The Man From Primrose Lane, and will develop it as a star vehicle for Oscar-nominated Silver Linings Playbook star Bradley Cooper. Langley Park’s Kevin McCormick will produce with Cooper and his 22nd & Indiana banner, which is also based at the studio. The script will be written by Chad Feehan, a Southland writer whose script Beyond The Pale made the Black List.

Renner is, of course, an Akron guy and an English instructor at the University of Akron as well as an established writer. The brain-bending novel is set in Northeast Ohio. You can read more of the Deadline story here. You can read more about the book here.

I messaged with Renner this morning, and here's his reaction to the deal and Cooper:

I'm beyond excited. Can't wait to see how this all comes together. They've assembled a really great team at Warner Bros.

Just saw Silver Linings Playbook last week in Montrose. Cooper knocked it out of the park. So, yeah, I can't wait to see what he does with the character of David Neff.
